The 2012-2013 athletic year will begin prior to the start of school. Please read below for important information regarding athletics.
- For details regarding tryouts please visit the tryout information calendar link to the right of this page.
- All athletes are required to have a current physical exam on file with the school nurse prior to trying out for any sport. Forms are located on the link to the right of this page.
- All parents/guardians of athletes must complete the online parent permission form and IHSA consent to random drug test form prior to participation in any practice or tryout. Click the permission form link to the right of this page. If you have not registered an athlete for try-outs in the past you will need to create a new account using your email address and a password you select. Potential athletes should be registered for each sport they are interested in for the school year prior to try-outs for each season. All athletes who are selected to a team are required to pay a participation fee of $175 per sport with a family maximum of $650 per school year.
- All incoming freshmen and first-time athletes and their parents/guardians must attend a MANDATORY meeting either on August 6 or August 13 to be eligible to participate in sports at Warren. This would be for any student who is considering trying out for a sport in the fall, winter, or spring season. Both meetings will be at the Almond Campus. The August 6, meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the August 13, meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
- Family activity and individual athletic/activity passes are currently available for purchase online at our fee payment site as well as at walk-in registration. The cost will be reduced if purchased online by July 26 (see fee site for details). After July 26, they will be available online on the fee payment website and at walk in registration for the regular price. Athletic activity passes include all regular season home wrestling matches, football games, basketball games and all one-act and main stage plays.
- The parent’s/guardian’s medical insurance policy is the primary insurance coverage for accidents occurring during school-supervised, school-sponsored events. The District also maintains student accident insurance, which may cover some of the costs of care for an accident during an athletic event sponsored and supervised by the school. This policy is secondary to the family’s medical insurance. The District also has, available for purchase, additional accidental insurance, which pays some or all of the cost of care for an accident 24 hours a day. This covers an accident whether or not it occurs at a school-sponsored, school-supervised event. More detailed information will be handed out during registration at the nurse’s station.
